Frequently asked questions…

How big will the group be?

We operate small-group adventures and will normally have between 5 and 8 participants on this event.

What is the pace of the hike?

The pace on the 24-hour 3 peaks is brisk as we are on the clock every step of the way. It’s important to be able to safely achieve each summit within 4-6 hours to stay on course for the 24-hour target.

Fitness is key for this challenge if you have not prepared then the pace may catch you out. We will work with each individual participant to ensure they have a training plan to suit.

How many Mountain Leaders in the group?

We have 1 mountain leader for every 10 people. You may ask, what if someone needed to come down the mountain early? In our experience, the main reason for someone not to reach the peak is down to fitness level, and in most cases, they are happy to walk back at their own pace.

Where this is not possible our driver will normally come up to meet the individual and escort them down.

Where injuries are involved your mountain leader will decide for the group based on the information at the time.

To date we have never had a group unable to summit a mountain due to someone having to come down the mountain early.

What level of fitness do I need for this challenge?

A reasonable level of fitness is required to complete the 3 peaks in 24 hours. We will give individual advice to hikers based on their current level of fitness.

You will have a much more enjoyable time if you have a good level of fitness. Walking, running, swimming and of course hiking are all good ways of building up your cardiovascular fitness and will get you ready for this adventure.

Make sure you test your fitness on a practice hike like Snowden, if you can comfortably complete this in 4 hours you’re ready.
